Spira Care is a patient-centered primary care practice designed to make your healthcare simpler, more convenient, and more personal. Has your experience with primary care included months of waiting for appointment openings, rushed visits, or confusion about where to go or what to do next? You have access to your Blue KC plan’s network. Call the number on the back of your Blue KC member ID card, or visit MyBlueKC.com for more information. Spira Care Centers and services are available to you as long as you have a plan that includes access to Spira Care, but you are not required to use Spira Care for your primary care. We hope you will consider visiting a Care Center to meet one of our primary care providers and experience the Spira Care difference.

Please schedule an appointment with us before you come in. We strive to maintain convenient appointment availability for sick appointments or if you experience a minor injury. Most Care Centers have same-day and next-day appointments available.

Call us at 913-29-SPIRA (77472) and speak with a triage nurse. They can help you decide where to go for care for your specific symptoms, to schedule you an appointment at Spira Care, or to help identify other in-network options if needed.

Appointments at Spira Care are available at no to low additional cost, depending on your plan. If you have a plan with a Health Savings Account (HSA), you’ll be charged a $60 flat fee for non-preventive medical appointments until you meet your deductible. Once you’ve met your deductible, all appointment types at Spira Care are at no additional cost to you.

If you have a plan with exclusive access to Spira Care Centers WITHOUT an HSA, services at Spira Care are offered at no additional cost to you.

Spira Care is not an urgent care center, but we are unique in that we often have same-day and next-day availability for when you’re not feeling well. We also offer extended business hours and Saturday appointments at most locations.

If you have a health concern or question that isn’t an emergency, we’re here to help! Call and speak with a triage nurse or on-call provider. We can help schedule a same-day, next-day appointment at Spira Care or help you find an in-network option that best meets your needs, like urgent care, if needed.

No. Your health coverage through any Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City plan, including plans with access to Spira Care, cannot be used for work-related or on-the-job injuries or illnesses. Talk to your employer about any workers’ compensation insurance they may pay for, which can provide benefits and/or support these types of healthcare needs. Speak to your employer’s human resources team for more information.

X-ray is available at the Crossroads, Independence, Olathe, Overland Park, Shawnee, Tiffany Springs, and Wyandotte Care Centers.

If your Care Team is at Spira Care Lee’s Summit or Liberty and your provider determines you need an X-ray, we will schedule a visit as quickly as possible at the neatest Care Center that has X-ray available.

X-rays at Spira Care Center must be ordered by a Spira Care primary care provider. We do not accept or facilitate X-ray orders from providers outside of Spira Care. If you have an order for an X-ray from another provider, a Care Guide can help you find an in-network option that works for you.

Spira Care Centers do not have on-site retail pharmacy or prescription filling services. If part of your treatment plan includes a prescription medication, your care team will help coordinate using convenient mail order or pickup at your preferred pharmacy.

A referral isn’t required to see a provider outside Spira Care Centers, but our goal is to simplify your healthcare inside and outside Spira Care Centers. We’re here to help.
