Getting the care you need,
the way you want

While the quality of care you’ll receive has not changed, some of our protocols have. Please check back for updates as we continue to adjust our policies during these changing times. Here’s what you can expect at your appointment.

Appointment Options: Our Care Teams have a variety of ways to see members – including in person, by phone or through a video visit. Call 913-29-SPIRA (77472), so we can discuss what kind of care you need and what type of appointment would work best.
Appointment Screenings: If you request an acute or same day appointment, you’ll be screened for possible COVID-19 symptoms prior to your appointment. Symptoms include cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat and loss of taste or smell.
Accompanying Guests: Members will be allowed one guest to accompany them on an office visit. This guest must be screened, documented in the member’s chart, wear a mask and remain in the exam room with the member. Guests will not be permitted to wait in the lobby.

COVID-19 Symptoms: If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms (mild or severe) call 913-29-SPIRA (77472) to speak with a triage nurse. We have a dedicated team to assist members with their COVID-19 care needs and questions. The nurse will talk with you about your symptoms and discuss next steps including a telehealth appointment with a provider and/or testing options.

Rest assured, your safety
comes first

Your trust is vital to us at Spira Care. You can be sure that we are doing everything possible to safeguard you and your family when visiting our Care Centers. That includes operating at the highest standards and in accordance with CDC guidelines for COVID-19. Here are the steps we’re taking to protect you during your visit.

Masks for everyone: All members, vendors and staff must wear a cloth or surgical mask at all times. If you do not have a mask we’ll provide you with one.
Health Screening: All members, staff and visitors will be screened each time entering the Care Centers. Screening includes asking several questions and a temperature check.
Social Distancing: Floor decals and chair spacing will be used to reinforce social distancing (6 feet apart) in all Care Centers.
Frequent Cleaning: On top of our standard cleaning protocols, all frequently touched surfaces and objects are cleaned and disinfected multiple times a day.
Removing Unnecessary Items: Toys, magazines, books, brochures, cushions, pillows and beverage/food stations will be removed from the lobby and exam rooms.
Staff Precautions: All staff will be tested by a Symptom Tracker before working in the Care Center. And all staff must wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as necessary to ensure their safety and the safety of patients.
Exam Room Precautions: Exam rooms will now include movable screens and will be left unused for at least 60 minutes after certain procedures to allow for air-recirculation.

Protect yourself, protect others

The best way to avoid illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus. Please do your part to slow the spread. Here are some tips to keep yourself, your loved ones and your community safe.

Practice Good Hygiene

Frequently wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Avoid touching your eyes, face and mouth.

Maintain social distance

Avoid close contact with people who are sick, even inside your home. Outside your home, stay at least 6 feet from other people.

Cover your mouth and nose

The CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
